Is beauty really “skin deep”? That’s a saying that I was taught, while coming up as a child. My family actually taught me many things. I’ve learned many more since being grown. The trials, stresses and experiences of life, shapes and molds who we ultimately become. Every little girl wants to be a beauty queen. We see the pageants on TV and aspire to grown up and one day become this. Reality is, very FEW of us girls every become a beauty queen, the sense of a pageant.
What we realize when we grow up is that true beauty IS only skin deep! I’ve learned that a person is only as beautiful as their inner personality portrays. Have you ever encountered a beautiful woman or man, only later to find that they are a ROTTEN person? I have had to deal with this all too often. There is a disappointment associated with this. You assume that because they are pleasant to look at, that their inner person is as pleasant to deal and communicate with. WRONG! Don’t let looks deceive you guys. They can be very deceiving. True beauty is when your inner beauty is synonymous to your outer beauty. What good is it to beautiful outwardly, when as you age, your beautiful skin wrinkles, your “fine” figure diminishes and all of your outer features die. I desire to age “gracefully” in the fullness of the Lord! With the Lord, you can grow old and be young inside.
